A BIT OF BACKGROUND

About Me:

Hi! I'm Naomi.

My love for Border Collies began when my parents brought home a black and white border collie, Gwyenne.

Whilst attending University, I got my first dog, Zoey. She came in to the Humane Society I worked at, at two weeks old. I fell in love right away and adopted her. Zoey and I moved to the UK in 2013, when she was only six months old.

It was then, that I began exploring different techniques of training, completing the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme and training in agility.

Zoey and I began training in agility and got the bug. She quickly won up to Grade 4 and I was ready for my next agility dog.

I began looking for my next dog in 2016 and it took me two years to find Nora! She is in the very early stages of her career, competing in her first KC show January 2020.

We currently train weekly in:

Trick Training and Shaping

Obedience
Agility

My Training Techniques:

I am a Obedience Instructor at a local club, teaching the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme and Tricks.

I believe in using force-free, positive training only. I keep up to date with the latest studies in modern dog training and apply them to both my classes and at home with my dogs.

Why I Breed:

Breeding wasn't originally on the cards for me, however that changed when Nora was about 18 months. She grew into such a spectacular dog that I wanted to be able to keep her drive, determination and her love of life.

I began researching breeding and canine genetics, deciding that I would only breed with all relevant health tests completed, as well as elbow and hip scores done. I am still keeping up to date with the latest research in genetics and applying that to any future breeding.

I breed occasionally, when looking to keep a puppy for myself to join me in the dog sports world. I breed for health, temperament, structure and working ability. It is important to me to have a Border Collie that can fill that role, yet switch off and enjoy a snooze on the sofa at home.
